The Physician III performs highly advanced and / or managerial medical, clinical, or public health work. The role involves directing medical and infection control activities, monitoring trends, and recommending improvements. Responsible for delivering high-quality general medical evaluation and treatment, supervising physicians and nurse practitioners, and acting as a resource for infection control. Provides treatment to injured state hospital employees and works under minimal supervision with extensive independence. Duties, location, and shift patterns are subject to change based on hospital needs.

Licensure and Certification Requirements
Unrestricted Texas medical license, DEA registration, NPI, and enrollment as Medicaid and Medicare provider are required.
Initial Screening Criteria
Graduation from an accredited medical school, completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Family or Internal Medicine, and at least three years of clinical or public health experience.
Additional Information
Applicants must pass background checks, drug screening, registry checks, and be at least 18 years old (21 for Waco Center for Youth). Flexibility in work hours, compliance with immunization policies, and ability to work overtime may be required. Immunization against certain diseases is mandated, and accommodations are available under ADA policies. HHSC uses E-Verify and requires I-9 documentation on the first day.
