Job description2+ years of quality inspection experience in manufacturing; aerospace or precision machining exposure is a plus. Hands-on CMM operation; programming experience preferred (not required). Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges. Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret drawings and GD&T. Willingness to work a full-time second shift schedule. Direct-hire, full-time position—no contract or temp. Join a well-established precision manufacturer as a full-time, direct-hire CMM Metrology Specialist on second shift. You will work with advanced measurement technology to verify intricate components used in aerospace and other high-precision industries.
A day in this role
- Begin your shift by reviewing prints and GD&T callouts, planning your inspection strategy.
- Program and operate coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) and related inspection equipment to validate complex geometries.
- Conduct thorough dimensional inspections to strict quality standards and customer specifications.
- Capture, analyze, and document results; maintain accurate quality records and reports.
- Partner with production and engineering to troubleshoot nonconformances and close the loop on corrective actions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of inspection methods, fixtures, and measurement routines.
