Overview
Sr Chemical Process Engineer role at Honeywell. The position focuses on delivering innovative solutions through process engineering fundamentals to support Solstice Refrigerants & Applied Solutions (RAS) and Honeywell's advanced materials products. The role involves designing, testing and validating products from prototype to market, collaborating with engineers, and contributing to Honeywell's next generation of RAS products. The location can be Buffalo, NY; Morris Plains, NJ; Houston, TX; or Baton Rouge, LA with a Hybrid work schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Pre-FEED and FEED development for projects including process scope and design solutions for growth projects for the RAS businesses including the Stationary business' latest blends and molecules.
- Identify and mitigate technical and process safety risks during design.
- Develop process models, heat and material balances, process flow diagrams, piping & instrumentation diagrams, basic control schemes, equipment specifications, plant layout, and process simulations / hydraulic models.
- Provide on-site technical support during project construction, commissioning, startup and product trials.
- Identify and evaluate process alternatives during design and justify process improvements with economic evaluations.
- Develop expertise with process chemistry and unit operations to enable scale-up of laboratory and pilot data to commercial design.
- Work with manufacturing sites to develop and implement productivity projects and optimize manufacturing processes.
