HHSC Translator
Job Description :
Under the general direction of the Translation Services manager, the English-Spanish Translator translates, edits, and proofreads printed, displayed, and audiovisual communications from English to Spanish and Spanish to English.
Uses Déjà Vu or similar database-supported translation software to process translations, add terminology to the existing glossaries, and build the unit’s specialized databases.
Performs research, consultation, editing and proofing for accuracy, consistency and to fit the intended audience. Communicates with clients to understand program specialized terminology to ensure accurate translations.
Maintains a predictable work schedule, and when required with little notice, works a flexible schedule that includes night and weekend work. Essential Job Functions :
