Director of Sales – Semiconductor IP Licensing – US. My client’s commercial team is looking to add a Director of Sales to drive licensing activity across the US, working with Tier 1 semiconductor and electronics customers to deliver growth across GPU, CPU, AI and Compute IP product lines. As well as working closely with the internal Segment, Marketing and Engineering teams based in the US, you will also collaborate with global colleagues across multiple disciplines to ensure customer success. My Client creates the graphics and AI chips that power some of the world’s most iconic devices, and we’re now expanding our IP portfolio to include RISC-V CPUs — building the most competitive Compute offering in the market. Their focus is simple : high performance, maximum power efficiency, and squeezing cutting-edge technology into the smallest possible space. This drive to push boundaries has seen them power over 10 billion devices worldwide — from smartphones and smart TVs to drones and self-driving cars.
Director of Sales — Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic account plans for US Tier 1 semiconductor and electronics customers
- Manage the complete licensing sales cycle — from pipeline development and proposals through to negotiation and contract closure
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives, clearly communicating value at both technical and commercial levels
- Build and maintain strong long-term customer relationships across engineering, product and commercial functions
- Represent the company at exhibitions, conferences and industry events, maximising new and existing customer opportunities
- Provide internal feedback on customer requirements, competitor positioning and market trends to influence strategy
- Ensure CRM (Salesforce) data is accurate and up to date, providing clear reporting on pipeline, forecasting and business activity
Director of Sales — Essential Skills
Demonstrable track record in semiconductor IP licensing or complex technology sales , ideally to Tier 1 organisationsAbility to influence and build relationships with senior / executive stakeholdersStrong technical grounding — understanding of SoC / ASIC design and development processes is highly desirableExcellent communication and presentation skills; confident at bridging technical and business conversationsStrategic selling experience with long and complex sales cyclesDegree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related technical fieldProactive, driven, and commercially astute with the ability to close high-value dealsFlexibility to travel regularly to US client sitesSalary and Package
