Material Planner / Buyer & Inventory Specialist – Manufacturing

Clinton Township, MI | Direct Hire | Up to $75,000 (DOE)

A growing manufacturer in Clinton Township is seeking a Material Planner / Buyer & Inventory Specialist to manage purchasing, supplier relationships, and inventory control. This direct hire role offers the opportunity to play a key part in ensuring materials are available, accurate, and flowing smoothly through a busy production environment.

What You’ll Do :

• Partner with the Master Scheduler to ensure material availability for production needs
• Generate and monitor purchase orders, providing demand forecasts to key suppliers
• Establish min / max inventory levels and manage replenishment methods (kanban, etc.)
• Track inbound shipments and resolve material discrepancies quickly
• Lead inventory control activities, including cycle counts and audits, to ensure accuracy
• Develop supplier scorecards to track on-time delivery and quality performance
• Apply Lean principles to streamline material flow and supply chain processes
• Serve as a backup for the Production Scheduler when needed
