Vaco is assisting a local Birmingham company identify a Cash Application Specialist, This candidate will play a crucial role in their AR department by accurately and efficiently processing incoming payments and ensuring they are applied to the appropriate customer accounts.
You will work closely with various internal teams to resolve discrepancies and reconcile accounts, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
Responsibilities :
- Process daily cash receipts, including checks, electronic payments, and wire transfers, ensuring accurate and timely application to customer accounts.
- Reconcile payments received with invoices and other supporting documentation to verify accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between payments received and amounts owed, collaborating with internal stakeholders such as sales and customer service teams.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding balances, identifying and addressing payment issues in a timely manner.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of cash applications and related transactions.
- Assist with month-end close processes, including reconciliations and reporting.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in cash application or related financial roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with SAP a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to reconcile complex accounts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to resolving issues.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
