The Public Works Department is responding to the growing needs of the City as we are actively implementing a new concrete replacement program, generously funded by the newly created Transportation Benefit District (TBD). We are seeking to hire a Concrete Maintenance Technician to join our dedicated team in our Public Works Department.

Role & Responsibilities

You are an outdoors type of person : You are not made to sit in an office or at a desk all day. Rain or shine, you prefer being outside doing work with your hands and on a dedicated team.

You are comfortable in a fast-paced environment where every day is a little different : This means being physically on the move all day long and possessing the ability to shift gears when new situations arise.

In addition, the role will also be responsible for the following :

  • Maintain, repair or replace damaged sidewalks, trails and pathways
  • Maintain work order records and track program progress
  • Construct missing segments of sidewalk or new assets as requested
  • Assist utilities with projects impacting assets in the sidewalk or curb and gutter areas

Qualifications

  • Any combination equivalent to high school diploma or equivalency and one (1) year construction or trades experience.

    • Licenses and Certificates

  • Valid Washington State Driver's License and a driving record that meets City standards.
  • Additional licenses and certificates that may be required depending on the area in which incumbent is assigned :
  • CDL, Class A or B; may need air brakes and / or tanker endorsement;
  • Washington State Department of Transportation Flagging Certification;
  • First Aid / CPR;
  • Signs and Markings Level I certification;
  • Pesticide Operators License;
  • WWCPA 1 or 2 (desirable)
  • WDS or WDM 1 (desirable)
