Authorization Specialist

A company is looking for an Authorization Specialist responsible for obtaining necessary authorizations for appointments and referrals.

Key Responsibilities

Obtain authorizations for scheduled appointments and testing referrals

Communicate with clinics, insurance companies, and patients regarding authorizations and financial estimates

Utilize insurance online portals and follow up on pending or denied authorizations

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required

Two years of experience in a medical office or referrals preferred

Ability to work productively in a remote environment

Knowledge of medical office software for updating patient information and processing referrals

Understanding of CPT and ICD-CM coding processes preferred
