Lead Process Engineer

Strativ are currently partnered with an exciting SME who are hiring for leadership positions in North America across Manufacturing and Design positions.

Our client are experts in lithium-ion battery manufacturing across a multitude of industries including, LDES, Automotive, eVTOL, HV and Maritime.

For this role, we are looking for a Process Engineer Lead to scale-up the manufacturing line and to further grow the already established team in the business.

Please note, this position does require leadership expereince of 2+ years ideally managing teams of more than 3+.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design machines and robotic components for automated cell manufacturing and scale up.
• Design Control panels and program PLCs for automated cell manufacturing and scale up.
• Optimization of aerosol and powder-based dry electrode processing technologies.
• Manage vendor and contractor relationships in support of scale up efforts
• Ensure all relevant operational and safety documents are maintained.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as Battery Science, Materials Science, and Process Development.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Bachelors engineering degree in automation, electrical, mechanical or robotics with 5-7 years of experience OR
• Masters engineering degree in automation, electrical, mechanical or robotics with 3-5 years of experience.
• Experience with automation design and controls software packages
• 2-3 years of experience managing multiple projects with 3-5 team members.
• 2-3 years of experience in project management
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills to support project management and development activities.

Desired Skills and Abilities

• Previous experience in battery cell manufacturing environment at pilot or industrial scale.
• Previous experience in aerosol physics and powder processing in liquid and gaseous fluids.
