PCU RN Job Details – Louisville, Kentucky Location : Louisville, KY 40202 (Kentucky nursing jobs) Healthcare Setting : Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse Start Date : November 16, 2025 End Date : February 14, 2026 Contract Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12-hour night shifts (6 : 45pm – 7 : 15am), every other weekend Hours per Week : 36 guaranteed Holiday Availability : Required Open Positions : 2 travel RN jobs available Estimated Weekly Pay : $1,860 - $1,910 per week Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Kentucky RN license (or compact state license for travel nurses) Minimum 2 years of inpatient acute care RN experience (PCU or step-down unit preferred) BLS (Basic Life Support) certification ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN) required Willingness to work holiday shifts as needed PCU RN Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing reassessments in a progressive care setting Develop, implement, and update individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams Monitor, document, and evaluate patient responses to clinical interventions and treatments Educate patients and families on care, treatment plans, and discharge instructions Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed healthcare staff; serve as mentor and preceptor to new nurses Promote teamwork and participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and service excellence initiatives Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and participate in Practice Governance model Ready to take the next step in your nursing career?
