Lead Cut Off Operator (swing)

LEAD RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Verify daily staffing and report any staffing issues / needs to Supervisor
• Prioritize workflow and keep key parts moving for TP plan or LTPO recovery
• Assign work to operators
• Audit the quality and quantity of work performed by operators
• Answer questions regarding the processing of parts
• Move operators to different job assignments that they are qualified to perform
• Provide input to Supervisors regarding operator punctuality tardiness and other aspects of overall performance
• Assume responsibility of routine operations in a Supervisors absence
• Stop the work of operators if appropriate (in the absence of a supervisor)
• May be required to handle or manage hazardous waste
• May be required to complete hazardous waste management training
• Additional department-specific requirements
• Champion Safety and 6S Initiatives
• Must be able to handle all the processes within the department
• Responsible for other duties as assigned

GENERAL SUMMARY OF A CUT OFF OPERATOR :

Position supports the manufacturing process by removing shell material from cast molds. Removing the pour cup separating the individual part from the mold by method of oxy / acetylene torch cutting. Sorts and segregates scrap material by alloy type.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience operating a cutting torch and hand held power tools is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

Ability to work with hand and power tools. Must be able to write climb stairs stoop and reach to perform daily job functions. Ability to exert up to one hundred pounds of force (lift up to 35lbs) and move molds from the cooling table into the waterblast cabinet and sandblast cabinets.
