As a physician assistant and officer on the U.S. Army health care team, you'll be entrusted with a level of responsibility not found in most health care settings.

- Health Professions Loan Repayment of up to $120,000 over three years; may be applied toward qualified education loans
- Accession bonus of $12,500 per year for a 3-year commitment or $15,000 per year for a 4-year commitment
- Specialty Pay of $2,000 to $5,000 per year for board-certified physician assistants
- Paid continuing education, including post-graduate training programs in orthopedics, emergency medicine, cardiopulmonary perfusion and occupational medicine
- 30 days of paid vacation earned annually

Requirements include :
- Bachelor's degree, plus completion of an accredited physician assistant program acceptable to the Army Surgeon General
- Certification by the National Commission for Certified Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Eligibility for board certification
- Between 21 and 42 years of age (may request a waiver)
- U.S. citizenship
- Students graduating within six months, with a qualifying degree from a U.S.-accredited school, may apply for Active Army service
