Senior Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a high performing electrical design engineer with leadership aspirations to add to our growing New York office. This role offers the opportunity to manage a variety of projects locally and globally from concept through completion while contributing to the strategic growth of our employee owned firm.

You'll provide technical expertise to project teams, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with firm leadership to deliver high-quality engineering solutions and help drive business development.

Job Summary

• Design lead for the electrical, lighting, and fire alarm systems, including preparation of all engineering calculations, equipment selection, and layout throughout life of the project
• Write scope of work for electrical design based on preliminary review and meetings with the client
• Prepare drawings and perform system design calculations and reports
• Select equipment for use in building systems
• Analyze operation of existing systems
• Demonstrate creativity, foresight and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving problems
• Coordinate all aspects of project document completion within company and externally with clients and other design professionals
• Serve as Project Manager and Technical Lead
• Prepare or review construction budgets based on experience and scope of project
• Supervise staff on multiple projects, provide assertive management, technical leadership and support to team members, verify that all work is completed as planned and scheduled in compliance with client, and company quality assurance practices
• Mentor younger staff
