Department Summary
Business & Finance Solutions (BFS), a division of UCLA under the Office of the Vice Chancellor & Chief Financial Officer, provides innovative campus wide solutions to complex financial and business matters, maximizing value to the University community.
BFS promotes a collaborative opportunity for campus to enhance revenue opportunities, manage campus risk, facilitate financial payment solutions for campus operations and students, act as an internal tax advisor to campus, provide financial reporting for UCLA, travel services, purchasing and procurement of goods and services and provides payroll analytics and support.
BFS encompasses the following departments with approximately 400 employees : Financial Management & Reporting, Purchasing and Procurement, Tax Services, UC Travel Center, Treasury, Costing Policy and Sales & Service, Payroll Partner, Student Financial Services, Accounts Payable, Mail, Document & Distribution Services, Insurance & Risk Management, and Operations.
Position Summary
- Under the direction of the P2P Projects Manager, this individual will be the focal point for outreach into the small business community and in-reach to key UCLA decision-makers for supplier selection;
- develop and implement supplier information and training sessions for small business on how to do business with UCLA, including collaboration with Staff Assembly in hosting the annual Small Business trade fair;
- develop small business contracting plans for federally funded contracts requiring them, and provide federal reporting on performance;
- provide information on capable small business to include in formal competitive bids and informal supplier selection processes;
play the lead role in enriching vendor database information with supplier small business information and provide reporting on utilization as requested.
Salary & Compensation
UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.

Qualifications
Demonstrated project management experience, including the ability to plan, implement, and evaluate sustainability initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to lead meetings, teams, and projects. (Required)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, interpret, and present data related to sustainability metrics. (Required)
- Ability to structure, collect, analyze, and communicate internal / external data or information in an organized manner. (Required)
- Proficiency in spend analysis tools and internet research for data mining for capable diversity suppliers. (Required)
- Ability to work well with multiple competing priorities, manage projects, and meet deadlines, while working with superior quality and accuracy. (Required)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment across organizational lines and represent the University independently with outside companies and organizations at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service. (Required)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. (Required)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels. (Required)
- Willingness to stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in sustainable procurement and small business support. (Required)
- Knowledge of sustainable procurement principles, including green purchasing standards, eco-labels, and certification programs.
Basic knowledge of vendor performance measurements and benchmarking concepts. (Required)
Ability to manage events and develop marketing / creative materials. (Preferred)
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations
- Bachelor's Degree in a related area and / or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Required)
- Certification in sustainable procurement (Sustainable Procurement Professional) (Preferred)
