SURVEY SUPERINTENDENT

SUMMARY

The Survey Superintendent is responsible for overseeing survey crews and managing the completion of projects. They are responsible for supervising project models

This position reports to the Construction Manager or another management personnel that the project leadership designates. This position reports to the Ankeny, IA office but will maintain an In-Office or hybrid schedule of working out of their home office and the Ankeny, IA office. Working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 : 00am to 5 : 00pm or 9 : 00am to 6 : 00pm local time. This position is expected to travel up to 100% of the time.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

• The Survey Superintendent oversees the daily field operations of a survey crew.
• Determine the most efficient plan of action for data acquisition for field surveys ranging from primary control through construction layout and as-built surveys, as needed.
• Understand and follow directions.
• Proficient with documentation of work performed and sketches.
• Communicate daily with Project Surveyor and technician regarding project schedule and work progress.
• Interact professionally with client representatives and landowners.
• Read and interpret construction drawings / specifications and understand all aspects of the project specifications and tolerances.
• Prepare daily reports, time sheets, and other required paperwork.
• Maintain vehicle and field equipment.
• Regular attendance, in accordance with the company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position.
• Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned by Management.
