ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

This is a fast-paced position in which the electrical engineer will work with multiple simultaneous project teams for onshore and offshore facilities. The senior electrical engineer is expected to have a functional working knowledge of common industry standards, and be able to  independently complete tasks which meet the needs of the customer and project teams. Additionally, this role is expected to provide backup to engineering management tasks, including leadership on project teams, mentorship, and proposal work.

Job Responsibilities and Duties :

• Independently perform common electrical engineering design tasks, including low and medium voltage power distribution, grounding, area classification, cable and raceway sizing and design.
• Specify and design medium and high voltage outdoor substation, distribution, and protection components, including switchgear, high voltage outdoor air insulated switchyards, overhead lines, risers, and underground cable systems.
• Utilize ETAP for multiple analysis types, including arc flash energy calculation, protective device coordination, ground grid step and touch potential, underground cable thermal studies, and DC / AC loss and load flow for renewable energy projects.
• Perform design checks and provide mentorship to other electrical engineers.
• Provide input on cost estimates for a variety of projects, including renewable energy, midstream, and downstream E&C facilities.
