Department Overview
The pediatric emergency department at Children's Minnesota St. Paul Hospital is a 32-bed, Level IV trauma center that specializes in the assessment and stabilization of acute pediatric illness, injury, and trauma. The multidisciplinary team of more than 150 pediatric professionals cares for over 45,000 patients a year. The emergency department offers 24-hour access and has some of the shortest wait times in the country. It is staffed with board-certified pediatric emergency medicine physicians, pediatric nurse practitioners, and certified pediatric emergency registered nurses. The unit provides a child-focused environment, utilizes cutting-edge technology, and emphasizes teamwork, safety, respect, and continuous learning. It incorporates the Comfort Promise to minimize procedural pain and maintains a family-centered focus that values social, economic, and cultural diversity.
Position Summary
The Unit Operations Coordinator is a pivotal front-line individual who provides exemplary customer service to families, staff, providers, and visitors, both in-person and by phone. Responsibilities include answering questions promptly and accurately, problem-solving as needed, providing first response to unit phone calls, arranging for patient-room deliveries, directing visitors, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, and serving as the key liaison to other departments. The Coordinator supports patient care on the unit(s), offers overall administrative support, and serves as the unit's technology resource. This role may require floating to other hospital departments based on need.

Compensation and Benefits
The posted salary represents a market-competitive range based on salary-survey benchmark data for similar roles locally and nationally. Pay determination also considers market indicators, the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, experience, internal equity, and organizational needs. In addition to salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend, or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
