About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience : 2 years of experience required, including experience in a large urban hospital.

License : RN license required.

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required.

Must-Have : EVD experience and Joint Commission stroke certified facility experience required.

Description :

20-bed unit providing intensive care to adult patients who have suffered traumatic brain injuries, strokes, epilepsy, and other head traumas.

Patients do not go to recovery room post-op; they will return to the unit for recovery.

RNs should be prepared to care for up to five Med Surg patients.

EVDs are placed at the bedside.

EEG leads implanted in the brain may be used to detect seizures, and these patients can remain on the unit for up to three weeks.

Travelers must work 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period.

Weekends will include Saturday and Sunday, along with night shifts on Friday and Saturday.

RTO restrictions allow for up to two weeks of requested time off.

Holiday requirement includes working 2 out of 3 major holidays.

This facility is entirely nicotine-free.

RNs wear specified scrubs with the logo printed on the back.

Additional requests for time off will be considered at the manager's discretion.

Travelers must float within their scope to meet facility needs.

The unit is supported by interdisciplinary teams, including IV teams, physical therapy, and respiratory services.

Patients will include those with subarachnoid hemorrhage, ischemic strokes, hemorrhagic strokes, brain tumors, epilepsy / seizures, and brain trauma.

EVD experience is essential for this role.
