Job description

Lunds & Byerlys Mitchell Road is currently hiring for a self-directed and outgoing Maintenance Technician ! This position works a full-time schedule and earns a competitive wage.

We operate 24 hours / day and 365 days / year . For this position we are looking for someone with availability around the hours of 10 : 00pm-6 : 30am.

This position is responsible for performing routine and non-routine types of preventive and ongoing maintenance (this includes repairs in the areas of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and / or machine servicing).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following description of work to be performed by this team member is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished. There are many necessary activities to satisfy any of the following performance guidelines.

  • Follow appropriate equipment / tool repair and maintenance guidelines to assure product quality, availability and freshness according to department standards.
  • Troubleshoot equipment repair issues and consult with outside vendors or internal staff to ensure problem resolution.
  • Maintain equipment, parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies.
  • Perform equipment and building preventative maintenance following established schedule.
  • Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventative maintenance techniques.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area ensuring workspace and storage areas are free from debris and clutter.

  • Perform all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner.

    • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education

    • Required : High school diploma or equivalent

  • Desired : Completion of two-year technical degree or equivalent knowledge
  • Experience :

    • One or more years' experience with packaging and food manufacturing equipment and repairs

  • Solid mechanical, electrical, and repair troubleshooting abilities and skills, including PLC

  • Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Ability to comply with USDA, FDA, OSHA, AIB and all other regulatory agencies while complying with good manufacturing practices
  • Computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English
