We are seeking a visionary Lead Software Engineer to join our team building our flagship digital web presence, Lennar.com. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in front-end technologies, a strong understanding of system integrations, and experience working with both in-house teams and outsourcing partners. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will architect and implement intuitive, engaging user interfaces, and manage the seamless integration of APIs, AI models, and back-end systems. Your Responsibilities on the Team
Software Engineering :
Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications with a strong emphasis on Next.js for both frontend and backend development.
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, adhering to modern best practices and coding standards.
Build scalable front-end interfaces using React and Next.js , and robust back-end services using Node.js and .NET , leveraging both RESTful APIs and GraphQL .
Ensure performance, security, and scalability across the stack.
Architecture and Design :
Contribute to the architecture and design of software systems, aligning with business goals and technical strategy.
Participate in technical design reviews, offering insights to improve system design and code quality.
Collaborate with DevOps and platform teams to integrate applications into CI / CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (ADO) and GitHub Actions , and automate deployment workflows.
Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS) is a strong plus.
Testing and Quality Assurance :
Develop and execute unit, integration, and automated tests to ensure software quality.
Identify and resolve defects and performance issues, conducting thorough code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality.
Work closely with QA teams to implement and improve automated testing strategies and processes.
Collaboration and Teamwork :
Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver high-quality features and enhancements.
Actively participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing clear updates and surfacing challenges proactively.
Mentorship and Leadership :
Mentor junior engineers, sharing knowledge and promoting best practices.
Lead by example with a strong work ethic, commitment to quality, and proactive problem-solving.
Take ownership of features or projects, driving them from concept to completion with minimal supervision.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation :
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, especially in Next.js, .NET, CI / CD, and cloud platforms.
Identify opportunities for process improvements, refactoring, and technical enhancements.
Contribute to technical discussions and help shape the team’s evolving technical direction.
Requirements
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience : 7+ years in software engineering, with a strong emphasis on full-stack development across modern web and backend technologies.
Next.js Expertise : Proven experience building scalable applications using Next.js, including both frontend interfaces and backend API routes.
Backend Proficiency : Hands-on experience with .NET, Node.js, and optionally Python, with a solid grasp of microservices architecture and API design.
Web Development : Familiarity with Headless CMS platforms, Digital Asset Management systems, and responsive front-end development.
Cloud & Infrastructure : Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
CI / CD & DevOps : Experience integrating applications into CI / CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps (ADO) and GitHub Actions, with a solid understanding of version control and automation.
Architecture & Databases : Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and database design for both SQL and NoSQL systems.
Agile Mindset : Comfortable working in agile environments, adapting quickly to evolving requirements and priorities.
Problem Solving : Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented mindset and a proactive approach to ownership and accountability.
Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
Initiative & Drive : Self-starter with a passion for technology, continuous learning, and driving projects forward with minimal supervision.

Physical & Office / Site Presence Requirements :
This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the incumbent to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary.
