Overview
A growing general contractor with an expanding portfolio of commercial tenant improvement, renovation, and ground-up projects across the West Coast is seeking a Project Engineer to join its team. This position supports field and project management staff in all aspects of construction coordination, documentation, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Provide daily project support to Superintendents and Project Managers on active commercial construction sites.
Prepare, track, and process RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, and closeout packages using Procore or similar project management software.
Communicate with subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to verify document accuracy and timely submission.
Review project drawings and specifications to identify design conflicts and coordinate clarifications with the project team.
Monitor material orders and deliveries, keeping detailed project logs and assisting with billing and cost tracking.
Update and maintain project schedules in collaboration with the field team; assist in weekly coordination and progress meetings.
Ensure compliance with insurance, safety documentation, and subcontractor scope verification.
Manage project documentation, daily field photos, and reports to ensure organized and complete records.
Support closeout activities including as-builts, warranties, and punch list tracking.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline—or equivalent experience in construction field operations.
Minimum 4 years of experience in a project engineering or field coordination role within a general contracting or construction environment.
Knowledge of RFIs, submittals, change order workflows, and construction documentation processes.
Proficient with Procore, Microsoft Office Suite, and familiar with scheduling tools such as MS Project.
Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; capable of interacting effectively with clients, subcontractors, and field personnel.
Preferred Experience
Previous experience working on commercial TI, retail remodels, or technical renovation projects.
Hands-on field experience with layout, coordination, or site supervision.
Exposure to construction management software platforms and digital documentation systems.
