PATIENT INFORMATION

Patient Demographics : Pediatric population

Patient Volume / Census : Average of 150 patients per day within the Pediatric ER

Admissions : Included in inpatient responsibilities

Rounding : Included

Phone Consults : As required for patient management

Case Mix : Pediatric emergency medicine cases

FACILITY INFORMATION

Office Equipment Available : X-ray equipment, respiratory therapy support, pharmacy onsite

Specialty Backup Available : Full pediatric ER team, including 4 physicians and 5 NP / PA providers

Support Staff Available : Ancillary teams, respiratory therapists, social workers, and pharmacists

Reason for Coverage : Ongoing coverage through July 2026

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Licenses : Active Florida medical license

Board : Board Certified in Pediatrics or Pediatric Emergency Medicine

DEA : Active DEA Certification required

Certifications : BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), NICA membership or proof of receipt required

Experience : Pediatric Emergency Medicine experience required

Other Qualifications : Submission materials must include current CV, NPDB report (within 3 months), and case logs for 24 inpatient records within the past 12 months (primary source only, not personal logs)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide direct inpatient pediatric emergency medicine care during assigned shifts

Supervise and oversee PA / NP teams during clinical hours

Perform required emergency procedures and ensure appropriate patient management

Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and hospital systems

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality pediatric emergency care
