Med / Surg RN Job Details – Olympia, WA

Location : Olympia, Washington (98506) – Washington nursing jobs

Assignment Length : 13-week travel contract

Start Date : December 2, 2025

End Date : March 3, 2026

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1650-$1770

Shift : Day shifts, 3x12-Hour shifts per week (07 : 00 - 19 : 30)

Hours per Week : 36

Weekend Requirement : 4 weekend shifts per month or every other weekend

Unit : Medical-Surgical 3rd Floor (Oncology focus)

Patient Ratio : 1 : 5

Charting : EPIC electronic health record

Floating : Required within similar Med / Surg units

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington or Compact state

Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg RN experience (3 years preferred)

Oncology nursing experience required; Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred

BLS certification (AHA required)

Proficiency with EPIC charting system

Ability to float between similar medical-surgical units

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Travel nurses must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult patients on a Med / Surg Oncology unit

Administer medications, monitor patient status, and document care using EPIC

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, social services)

Utilize rapid response / code teams as needed

Manage peripheral lines, oxygen therapy, and non-invasive airway management

Educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions

Float to similar Med / Surg units as required

Maintain a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment for patients and staff
