Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

Location : White Plains, NY 10601 (New York nursing jobs)

Healthcare Setting : Acute Care – Labor & Delivery Unit

Start Date : November 17, 2025

End Date : February 16, 2026

Assignment Duration : 13-week travel contract

Shift : 12-hour day shifts

Hours per Week : 36 (Guaranteed 34.5 hours / week)

Weekend Requirement : Every 3rd weekend (3 weekend shifts in a 4-week period)

Scrub Color : Provided by hospital

Estimated Weekly Salary : $2100-$2250

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license (Registered Nurse) – New York state preferred

Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience (high risk experience required)

Required Certifications : ACLS, BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

BSN preferred

Strong customer service and communication skills

Experience in fast-paced clinical environments

Familiarity with Meditech, GE, and Epic charting systems is a plus

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a 14-bed Labor & Delivery unit (triage, labor, and OR beds)

Conduct patient assessments and physical exams

Scrub for C-sections and assist with high-risk obstetric patients

Manage magnesium sulfate and other high-risk OB cases

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams including hospitalists, pharmacy, and respiratory therapy

Float to OB or nursery for support tasks as needed (no patient assignments when floating)

Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech, GE, and Epic electronic health record systems

Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service in all patient interactions
