VCA Midwest Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center is seeking Veterinary Assistants to join our Emergency and Critical Care Service! Our Emergency and Critical Care team thrives in a fast-paced service, handle critical cases, and enjoy the stimulating caseload. This is a great opportunity to expand your knowledge, and work with a dynamic team of Specialists, ER doctors, Licensed Technicians, and support staff.
Schedule : Full-time opportunities, 3 x 12 hour shifts are available or 4 x 10 hour shifts. We are hiring for Day and Swing shifts.
Shift Differential : We offer a shift differential to all hourly associates who work within a specific timeframe overnight.

The skills that will be utilized include, but are not limited to :
Requirements : Minimum 1 year experience working in a veterinary hospital, High School Diploma / GED or equivalent, Excellent communication skills necessary to interact effectively with coworkers, referring veterinarians, clients, and patients; ability to readily learn new procedures, must be adaptable, Ability to work independently while supporting a busy, high-producing department, Compassion for pets and people, understanding and respect for others' choices. Willingness to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, The ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and be exposed to hazards associated with allergens, contagious diseases, noises, odors, bites, scratches, and animal waste.
