The Opportunity
Otter is expanding its Solutions Engineering team to support the growing demands of our rapidly expanding enterprise customer base. This role is ideal for someone who is technically focused and also brings strong communication and collaboration skills. You will work closely with customers to translate complex requirements into scalable AI-driven technical solutions that address real-world enterprise challenges.
We are looking for a technically strong engineer who can both write production-quality code and collaborate directly with enterprise customers to build AI-powered solutions, large language models (LLMs), and intelligent automations that drive long-term success.
You will collaborate with teams across Product, Engineering, Data Science, Sales, and Customer Success to deliver enterprise-grade AI solutions that help our platform thrive in complex and varied customer environments. This includes designing and implementing API-based AI workflows, building custom ML-enabled integrations, and driving adoption of AI-first strategies that unlock measurable business value.
Your Impact
- Design and deliver scalable AI solutions for enterprise customers, including integrations, automation, AI agents, and cloud configurations.
- Develop production-ready code and scripts (Python preferred) to implement custom functionality, backend code, and reusable AI solution frameworks.
- Lead technical scoping and solution architecture, aligning customer needs with platform capabilities and infrastructure.
- Support the full onboarding and integration lifecycle, from pre-sales discovery to post-sale deployment and enablement.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers, bringing a tenacious problem-solving mindset with creativity to overcome complex business challenges.
- Engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including C-level executives, Product, and Engineering, to influence the product roadmap through customer insights and field feedback.
- Build repeatable playbooks and frameworks to scale delivery and promote best practices.
- Own technical troubleshooting and debugging, working directly with customer engineering teams.
We're Looking for Someone Who
Has 2+ years of experience in solutions engineering, software engineering, or technical consulting roles with hands-on coding responsibilities.Deep experience with Python and comfortable developing production-grade tools, services, and applications within frameworks such as Django.Proficient in SQL and relational databases for queries, reporting, and integrations.Experience with OAuth, JWT / API tokens, RESTful APIs, SAML, and integrations across enterprise SaaS platforms, including CRMs (Salesforce, HubSpot), Collaboration & Productivity (Slack, SharePoint, Notion), and ATS (Workday, Greenhouse).Familiar with cloud platforms such as AWS, with experience in infrastructure, rate limiting, system design, and scalable architecture.Able to architect and customize generative AI solutions for enterprise workflows, while leading technical design discussions and driving strategic systems integration.Communicates clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and can translate complex concepts into actionable insights.Thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment, and enjoys solving problems through cross-functional collaboration.Nice to Have
Background in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent field.Experience working with frontend languages and backend frameworks such as JavaScript, TypeScript, and Django.Familiar with middleware platforms (e.g., Workato, Airbyte, Tray.io) and other integration tools.Experience with data pipelines, enterprise-grade security models, or system observability tooling.Prior experience in pre-sales engineering, proof-of-concept delivery, or solution playbook development.Knowledge of DevOps practices or experience working with CI / CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code.About Otter.ai

Salary Range : $155,000 to $185,000 USD per year.
This salary range represents the low and high end of the estimated salary range for this position. The actual base salary offered for the role is dependent on several factors. Our base salary is just one component of a comprehensive total rewards package.
