Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with at least 2 years of experience in both adult and pediatric echocardiography and required ARDMS, BLS, and RDCS certifications.
Responsibilities
Work in an acute care hospital with a Level II Trauma CenterPerform echocardiography for both adult and pediatric patientsProcedures include bubble studies, imaging with contrast, M-mode, pharmacologic and treadmill stress echos, portable echo, routine echo, and transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE)Day shifts with a mix of 8- and 10-hour shifts starting between 7 : 00 AM and 8 : 00 AM, determined by department needsOn-call requirement 1-2 nights per week and every 3rd or 4th weekend, with holiday call rotationsFloating within the hospital or to affiliate locations is requiredCerner used for charting; Cerner experience preferredSiemens equipment experience is preferredScrubs are providedStrong knowledge of protocols for bubble studies, pharmacologic and stress studies, and pediatric echo procedures is necessaryMust complete hospital fingerprinting requirements before orientation if license is not requiredTeam will provide support during orientation and ongoing as neededMust work 2 of the 3 major holidays if assignment occurs during holiday periodsLocals are acceptedNo first-time travelers acceptedRTO beyond 5 non-holiday days requires prior approvalFree parking permit provided during orientationPast perm or PRN employees must have a 12-month break before being eligible as a travelerRequirements
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in adult and pediatric echocardiographyCurrent ARDMS, BLS, and RDCS certifications requiredExperience with procedures on ICU and ED patients and familiarity with isolation precautionsAbility to perform required echo techniques for both adult and pediatric populations, including advanced and portable studiesMust be able to float as necessary to meet facility needsMust be in Illinois 3 business days prior to start for fingerprinting if license is not requiredLicense required if applicableBenefits
