Distribution Manager

Position

The Distribution Manager role is to coordinate the distribution of the Summit Daily News and Sky-Hi News newspapers and magazines using a combination of employees and independent contractors. This includes cost effectively managing the payroll as well as managing the press run numbers to minimize returns. This is achieved by placing the newspaper and magazines in prime locations to ensure maximum pickup that benefits advertisers as well as readers.

Key

• Act as the liaison between Summit Daily News and Sky-Hi News and the carriers who deliver products for both publications, ie. newspapers, magazines and other products to be determined.
• Manage the distribution employees to achieve department and company goals.
• Contract and manage a team of carriers to deliver all products.
• Responsible for the delivery of all products in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Able to evaluate and implement efficiencies in order to continue to add new products to the distribution process.
• Ability to maintain accurate accounting of all operations, both costs and revenue. Continually finding ways to reduce costs and maintain profitability of product delivery.
• Develop a successful delivery operation though selection, contracting, training, coaching and motivating a high-quality distribution team to meet delivery expectations of our Summit Daily News and Sky-Hi News products.
• Maintain current and up-to-date distribution schedule, with adequate coverage at all times, monitor needs and update as necessary.
• Assist in and maintain standards of circulation service for our advertisers.
• Interact with the other publications in the company and external customers to achieve satisfactory delivery outcomes.
• Other duties as assigned.
