Purpose To ensure the warehouse environment remains clean, safe, and well-maintained in compliance with Sanitation Program (SOP-0641).
The Warehouse Sanitation / Handyman supports daily operations by performing cleaning, sanitation, and light maintenance duties to uphold product quality, safety, and operational efficiency. 2.0 Scope This position applies to all warehouse facilities and includes both sanitation and general maintenance responsibilities. 3.0 Key Responsibilities 3.1 Sanitation and Cleaning Duties - Maintain floors, racks, and pallet areas free from dirt, dust, labels, and debris. - Sweep, dust, mop, and scrub according to the Master Sanitation Schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, and annual). - Clean light fixtures, overhead beams, pipes, walls, and doorways. - Empty, clean, and sanitize trash containers; ensure proper waste disposal. - Remove cobwebs, clean around dock levelers, exit doors, and warehouse perimeters. - Clean locker rooms, restrooms, and break areas in accordance with hygiene standards. - Address spills or leaks immediately and report any safety concerns to management. 3.2 Maintenance and Handyman Duties - Perform basic repairs such as patching walls, tightening fixtures, or replacing light bulbs. - Inspect and maintain pallets, racks, and warehouse tools. - Conduct minor repairs on cleaning equipment and small hand tools. - Report facility damage, equipment issues, or hazards promptly. - Support warehouse operations with general handyman tasks as assigned. 3.3 Safety and Compliance - Follow all cGMP, and HACCP standards. - Utilize approved chemicals and maintain access to Safety Data Sheets (SDS). - Adhere to lock-out / tag-out procedures when performing maintenance. - Wear appropriate PPE (gloves, goggles, aprons, face masks, etc.) during cleaning and repair work. - Support pest prevention and facility upkeep initiatives. - Complete required sanitation checklists and documentation for verification by management.
Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent required. - 1+ years of experience in warehouse, sanitation, or maintenance preferred. - Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation procedures in industrial settings. - Basic mechanical or repair skills with tools and equipment. - Ability to read and follow SOPs and complete records accurately. - Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing manual labor in various temperatures. - Dependable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious. 5.0 Work Environment - Warehouse environment with moderate noise and exposure to cold temperatures and cleaning agents. - PPE required as per safety policy. - May include evening, weekend, or overtime hours based on operational needs. committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
