Responsibilities Position is in a hospital-based Emergency Room with trauma level 1 designation Cares for adult and pediatric patients, with trauma and burns stabilized before transfer as appropriate Assignment involves floating between main, satellite, and two freestanding ER locations within a 30-minute radius Patient ratio is 1 : 4 in the ER Shifts are 12-hour nights with a requirement for 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks and coverage of 2 out of 4 major holidays Unit has 36 acute, 54 subacute beds, and 6 trauma bays Uses Cerner EMR; Cerner experience is required Phillips cardiac monitors are used, and RNs must be able to read telemetry strips Standard team includes charge RNs, physician coverage, PCTs, RT 24 / 7, and pharmacist in ER 10 hours / day Provide comprehensive nursing care in a high-acuity ER setting including trauma, cardiac, and behavioral health patients Must be comfortable floating mid-shift among multiple ER sites within the health system Participate in floor-specific orientation and SIMs Lab testing for clinical skills and policy adherence Navy scrubs are required for this assignment There are 30-40 psychiatric hold patients regularly in the ER Returning employees must not have worked directly for the health system as staff or PRN within the last 12 months Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for this travel position (verified by driver's license) Holiday coverage includes two out of four major holidays per assignment Candidate teams must have their own vehicles due to float requirements between sites Requirements Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of consideration Minimum 2 years of ER experience required At least 1 year of trauma level 1 experience as both traveler and permanent staff, with 8 months trauma 1 experience considered Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; TNCC and ATCN preferred Cerner EMR experience required, with recent usage documented in work history Ability to pass a dysrhythmia (DYS) exam prior to accepting the position, with 2 attempts permitted Must pass SIMs Lab skills assessment for sterile technique including Foley catheter and port-a-cath insertion Copy of driver's license required for consideration Must have natural hair color and no facial piercings; men must be clean-shaven for fit testing No first-time travelers will be considered Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-621047.
