Job Title : Senior Electrical Control Engineer
Location : Onsite in Hammond, Indiana

Rate : $70 - $80

Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise to solve complex problems and leadership for project management or oversight in a specific area, with minimal supervision and increased latitude for unreviewed work.
- Design, installation, testing and maintenance of the communication and SCADA control systems that monitor, control, and protect the Company\'s gas and electric transmission, distribution, hydroelectric generation, and lake level control infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot SCADA and communication systems; coordinate outages; design, build and commission substations, communications systems, and energy management control systems.
- Work schedule can include extended hours or overnight stays; personnel are subject to 24 / 7 emergency callout.
- Under minimal supervision, provide technical guidance in identification, analysis and resolution of problems; plan, organize, estimate, schedule and monitor work activities; prepare thorough technical reports, documentation and sketches; maintain accurate records; coach and mentor other professionals.
Qualifications
7 to 12 years of electric utility experience; ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science in Engineering.Strong engineering / technical theories and principles; experience researching technical design issues, evaluating alternatives, and presenting recommendations.Strong written and verbal communication; knowledge of project management principles; PMP Certification; experience in the electric utility industry.Engineer III Plus – Additional Qualifications
Understanding of Communication & Control principles; ability to train across the organization for PRC / CIP compliance.Ability to design complex Communication & Control schemes for new substations or renovation projects; perform detailed drawing reviews to ensure adherence to C&C standards; provide guidance to external design firms.Ability to work with customers, contractors, and internal teams on complex C&C designs; comprehensive knowledge of T&D, communication configurations and substation operations.Ability to complete complex C&C system modernizations & capital projects independently; troubleshoot and analyze C&C schemes; operate and train others on complex electrical test equipment; analyze system events and provide detailed reports to operational teams.Comprehensive mastery of engineering PC applications (AutoCAD, Meridian, AcSELerator RTAC, VistaNET, SGConfig, WebFG); familiarity with Cascade, FootPrints, and Confluence.Ability to perform C&C scoping for complex capital improvement projects.Seniority level
