Senior Program Manager, Data Center Development Contract Management
Experience owning outcomes and decision making, solving ambiguous problems and influencing stakeholders; deep expertise in domain. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, business, supply chain, law or legal studies, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Additionally, eight years of experience in program or project management, eight years of technical program management experience with a focus on infrastructure, construction, data center projects or legal aspects related to these fields, and seven years of experience in construction contracting, including leading negotiations, drafting agreements, and managing contracts with GCs and developers is required.
Experience with data center construction life-cycles, and the key delivery dependencies related to site development and offsite infrastructure delivery works is also required. Preferred qualifications include a juris doctor degree or master's degree in a relevant technical or business field, certification in project management, paralegal, or a related contract management certification, proficiency with construction agreement law, various standard agreement types, and contracting best practices in the infrastructure or mission-critical facility space, proven ability to work with and influence executive-level stakeholders and cross-functional teams, and excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
The Infrastructure Construction and Asset Management (ICAM) team, a component of the broader Google Infrastructure and Energy (GIE), is dedicated to addressing customer business issues by delivering global infrastructure and resource solutions that support these data centers. Within the Data Center Acquisitions and Development team, ICAM is responsible for overseeing Google's off-site infrastructure, inventory land, and both leased and owned data center assets. This includes ensuring the secure, timely, and budget-compliant construction and delivery of off-site infrastructure projects, robust administration and management of leased obligations, and compliant management of inventory properties. ICAM safeguards Google's capacity rights through stringent asset management and financial compliance, while also developing and upholding contractual standards and tools to protect Google's operational interests.
This high-impact contract role is a critical component, specifically managing the acceleration and successful execution of the data center fee development program at owned campuses. In this role, you will serve as the primary commercial lead for program development, working with technical leads to incorporate technical requirements, setting up processes, developing contracting templates, and negotiating build contracts with General Contractors (GCs), Sub-contractors, EPC teams, Design-Builders, Architects and developers, ensuring alignment with internal business goals and timelines. You will leverage your experience in fee development and construction contract negotiation, and a proven ability to negotiate and manage complex, multi-million-dollar agreements to ensure time-to-market and cost efficiency for Google's next-generation Data Center portfolio.
