Cybersecurity Specialist

The Tech Info Group ("TTIG") is a Managed IT Service Provider, providing comprehensive IT Services, back-up solutions, cloud & security solutions and more to companies and enterprises with 10-200+ employees in Southern California, New York and Florida. TTIG specializes in being a 3rd party IT Department to businesses via our fully staffed help-desk, complete with 24 / 7 proactive infrastructure management and monitoring. We are seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist to join our team in a hybrid role (on-site in Los Angeles, CA and remote). In this position, you will help secure both our internal systems and our clients' networks. Cybersecurity specialists are responsible for “detecting threats and protecting an organization's sensitive information by implementing security measures”, overseeing data security operations across software systems, networks, and data centers. You will take charge of improving existing security infrastructure and staying current on emerging threats and solutions

Responsibilities

Security Analysis & Monitoring : Analyze system and network structures; test and tune security controls (firewalls, access permissions, etc.) to protect against cyber threats. Monitor networks and systems for suspicious activity or intrusions using SIEM / IDS tools.

Threat Detection & Response : Perform threat and risk assessments, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing to identify security gaps. Investigate and respond to security incidents; manage user access and apply countermeasures (patches, malware removal, etc.) to remediate breaches.

Security Architecture & Implementation : Design, deploy and manage firewalls, intrusion detection / prevention systems, and other protective devices. Implement new security software and tools aligned with business needs. Ensure all systems are updated and hardened against attacks

Policy & Compliance : Develop, document, and enforce security policies and procedures (e.g. access controls, encryption standards). Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g. NIST, HIPAA, ISO) and best practices. Conduct regular security audits and report findings to leadership.

Collaboration & Reporting : Work with IT and other departments to promote security awareness and integrate best practices across the organization. Communicate security risks and mitigation strategies to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Prepare clear documentation and reports on security status, incidents, and recommendations

Required Qualifications

Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Experience : 3–5 years in IT security or related roles (e.g. security analyst, network administrator) with hands-on experience in system / network security, monitoring, and incident response.

Certifications : Relevant security certifications (e.g. CISSP, CompTIA Security+, CEH, CompTIA CySA+) are highly desirable(CompTIA notes that certifications like Security+ and CySA+ help demonstrate cybersecurity knowledge

Technical Knowledge : Strong understanding of TCP / IP networking, Windows / Linux operating systems, and common security frameworks. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and security standards.

Security Tools : Proven experience with security technologies (see Technical Skills below). Demonstrated ability to use security tools for monitoring, analysis, and defense.

The pay range for this role is :

130,000 - 145,000 USD per year(Remote (Los Angeles, California, US))
