This position is fully remote, with a requirement to work East Coast operating hours.

We are seeking a skilled Mainframe ACAPS application engineer with expertise in ACAPS, COBOL, JCL, and Mainframe platform engineering.

Rate : For W2 consultants, a comprehensive benefits package is available.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Design and implement new features for the mainframe ACAPS application while enhancing the quality of the products.
• Provide technical leadership and collaborate as a developer within an agile squad.
• Work with other software engineers to define system architectures and design innovative solutions.
• Develop software that meets high code quality standards and metrics.
• Engage in test-driven development practices.
• Participate actively in communities of practice, share knowledge, and review code.
• Drive automation, maintaining maintainable, supportable, and testable code for operational excellence.
• Partner effectively with operations and engineering teams to improve services.
• Stay updated on IT trends within your area of expertise.
• Assist with problem resolution related to end users and customers.
• Contribute to defining operational procedures for software development.
• Ensure compliance with audit requirements through appropriate controls and documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

5+ years of experience with Mainframe / ACAPS.

Proficient in object-oriented and functional software design.

Familiar with software development methodologies.

Understanding of security best practices.

Strong problem-solving capabilities.

Excellent collaboration and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Education Requirements :

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Information Systems or a comparable field, along with 5+ years of relevant experience.

The skills, experience, and other compensable factors will guide pay rate determination. This posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that could result in pay outside this range.
