Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Specialist, Trade Compliance – Export to join our team. This position supports business operations by executing export policies and procedures with a focus on Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) classifications. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of trade compliance regulations, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, global environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sourcing, engineering, and other departments to assess jurisdiction classification and Country of Origin under ITAR / EAR regulations.
- Analyze, research, and assign appropriate Commerce Control List (CCL) and U.S. Munitions List (USML) classifications and Country of Origin for materials.
- Maintain accurate and compliant export records per regulatory requirements and company policy.
- Conduct and monitor Restricted Party Screening (RPS) reviews.
- Apply for export licenses and assist with audits and close-out of export and Electronic Export Information (EEI) activity.
- Develop and maintain Work Instructions for export and import processes.
- Support documentation and data gathering for government agency inquiries.
- Develop and track KPIs and trade compliance metrics.
- Manage updates to export and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications within ERP systems.
- Support the import team and perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Business Administration, or Supply Chain (relevant experience may substitute).4+ years of trade compliance experience.Proficiency in Classification (EAR / CCL, ITAR / USML), recordkeeping, valuation, and Country of Origin determinations.Knowledge of U.S. and Canadian Trade Regulations and EEI filing.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.Experience with NetSuite and Visual ERP systems.Preferred Qualifications
In-depth knowledge of ITAR / EAR and related regulatory frameworks.Familiarity with Restricted Party Screening tools and processes.Understanding of U.S. trade regulations related to BIS, OFAC, DDTC, CFR 19, CFR 15, and U.S. Census.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate compliance requirements into operational processes.Additional Information
