Position Overview

Heartland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Environmental Services Aide to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors by performing housekeeping and laundry duties in accordance with facility policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Laundry Duties

Inventory, label, and manage personal clothing items for new residents.

Collect, sort, and wash soiled linens and clothing according to established infection control procedures.

Dry, press, fold, and distribute clean linens and garments to appropriate locations.

Inspect linens for wear and damage; dispose of unmarked or unusable items.

Clean and maintain laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and surrounding work areas.

Housekeeping Duties

Follow daily cleaning schedules for all assigned areas, including resident rooms, restrooms, lounges, offices, and common areas.

Dust, wash, and disinfect fixtures, floors, walls, doors, and ceilings.

Polish metal fixtures and clean mirrors, windows, vents, and furnishings.

Perform terminal cleaning of rooms after patient discharge or transfer.

Empty trash and wastebaskets and assist with carpet care and floor maintenance.

Maintain supply areas in a clean and organized manner.

Qualifications

Education : High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience : Minimum of 2 years of housekeeping or laundry experience required; nursing home experience is required.

Physical Requirements : Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently. Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
