About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum 2 years of experience required

License : Active nursing license required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Must-Have :

Experience in PCU / DOU / IMC / Stepdown

Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias

Experience with Rapid Response Teams

Knowledge of pacemakers (temporary / permanent)

Experience with pre / post cardiac catheterization and surgery

Familiarity with TAVR and TR Band procedures

Ability to manage insulin drips and feeding tube care

Experience with blood product administration

Central and peripheral line care / management

Ability to start IVs and follow heparin protocols

Know how to manage cardiac and vasoactive drips, including titration

Familiarity with chest tubes and non-invasive airway management

Experience with isolation precautions and wound care

Description :

This position involves caring for thoracic and vascular surgery patients immediately post-operatively after recovery from anesthesia.

The role includes monitoring post-operative cardiothoracic surgery patients upon transfer.

Patience population includes complex cases with multiple comorbidities such as advanced heart failure and end-stage renal disease.

Nurses will be responsible for managing various types of equipment, including chest tubes and epicardial wires.

Experience with telemetry and central venous access is required.

Daily responsibilities include dressing changes, incision care, and managing open wounds.

Candidates should have experience with blood product administration, including PRBC and FFP.

Responsibilities also include managing epidural / PCA pain management and performing bladder scans.

Nurses will collaborate with interdisciplinary support services, including physical therapy and respiratory services.

The average nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4.

Weekend shifts are required, along with charge RN assignments as needed.

Clinicians may float within the service line to meet facility needs.
