Plumber Job Description
Repair / replace water heaters, water lines, gas lines, faucets, shower valves, shut off valves and different kinds of plumbing pipe for sewer and water.
Repair / replace sump pumps, recirc pumps, backflow devices, leak searches, clear stoppages using machinery and hydro jetting
Plumber Duties & Responsibilities
- Diagnose plumbing issues and perform repairs
- Conduct routine inspections on plumbing systems
- Install, maintain, and repair pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in residential and commercial buildings.
- Repair water line leaks and unclogs drains.
- Respond to plumbing emergencies and find quick solutions on the spot
- Follow state laws and regulations during every project.
- Document your estimations, repairs, and all other taken actions
Plumber Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older with a clean driving record
- Apprenticeship and previous experience in similar positions required
- General knowledge of piping and ventilation systems
- Ability to read technical plans and blueprints
- Ability to use different plumbing tools and equipment
- Attention to detail
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
- Backflow certified a plus but not required
- HVAC experience a plus but not required
