CDL Class A Shuttle Driver
NC Hickory Position Requirements Position Summary : The Shuttle Driver position will drive a tractor trailer, tandem trailer and / or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes for the purpose of delivering empty trailers to PFG warehouse locations and to pick up and deliver full trailers with various food products (meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods) to PFG domicile locations in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner.
Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to :
Perform pre-trip safety check inspection of truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations;
inspect cab and trailer to insure they meet company quality standards and take appropriate action as needed.
Perform count check of items and check customer invoices of products that have been loaded. Check and complete in an accurate and in legible fashion all the required paperwork associated with freight.
Move tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed.
Unload products from the trailer transport items into designated customer storage areas. Perform damage control checks on items and contact supervisor about removing orders according to company policy.
Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures. Collect money (cash or checks) where required. Load customer returns on to trailer and secure trailer doors.
- Unload damaged goods and customer returns at the driver check-in dock and complete necessary paperwork. Unload pallets, insulated blankets, Power Walker / Hand carts and remove trash from trailers as required.
- Complete daily record of hours of service and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state and company requirements.
- Perform post trip safety check on the vehicle, secure tractor and trailer and / or Red Tag for repair or maintenance as needed.
Perform general housekeeping duties in cab, loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean as required. At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications : 12 months commercial driving experience
High school diploma / GED or state approved equivalent
Internal candidates must be in good standing
Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills
Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement
Must be 21 years of age
Meet all State licensing and / or certification requirements (where applicable)
Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
Work required 3rd shift schedule, Sunday-Thursday nights (schedules may vary)
Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
Pass road test
Valid current DOT Health Card and / or able to secure new DOT Health Card
Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and / or other equipment to move and / or stack product cases / freight of varying size and weight throughout shift;
product generally ranges from between 10-35 pounds and up to between approximately 60 and 90 pounds, depending on the location Preferred Qualifications : 1+ years commercial driving experience
Foodservice distribution industry experience
Onboard computer and electronic log system experience (i.e. PeopleNet)
Hand-held point of delivery scanning system experience (i.e. POD) Primary Purpose of the Position
The In-Shop Technician position is based inside our client's automotive repair facility. The successful technician will consult with the shop(s) and assist in completing diagnostics scans to diagnose and recommend repairs for vehicles involved in collisions using the asTech device.
Our Technicians effectively use OEM (original equipment manufacturer) scan tools, ALLDATA and web resources for automotive diagnostics and repair information to increase diagnostic scan volumes at their respective shops.
Essential Functions
- Utilize various OEM tools and diagnostic equipment to make the most effective recommendations for repairs on multiple makes and models
- Act as a subject matter expert and adequately explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals on a consistent basis
- Ability to quickly learn how to evaluate information and data to provide comprehensive interpretation of technical information, electrical components and Advanced Safety Systems (ADAS)
- Proficient in identification of faults, error messages, module corrections, etc.
- Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in e-learning or other training sessions in an effort to stay well-informed with rapidly changing automotive technology
- Responsible for test driving and / or moving customer vehicles at shop locations
- Utilize understanding of the structure and practices of various types of repair facilities, body shops, insurance carriers to facilitate effective working relationships
- Coordinate with fellow technicians in performing in depth diagnostic test plans
- Keep team management aware of mechanical and electrical repair problems as they occur
- Adhere to all company and shop policy, procedure, safety and environmental rules
- Ensure compliance utilizing basic knowledge of applicable local, state and ferdal laws
Minimum Qualifications :
- 2-3 years of car dealership experience OR experience in an aftermarket repair facility as an Automotive Technician
- OEM scan tool and / or after market scan tool experience and knowledge
- Proficient in identification of faults, error messages and modules
- Strong automotive mechanical and electrical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience
- Must have company designated certifications or obtain within 6 months : ASE, I-Car, MECP
- Current, valid drivers license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
- Basic computer skills and understanding of Microsoft Office

Supervisory Responsibility : This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
FLSA Status : This position is non-exempt.
Work Environment : This job operates inside an automotive repair shop environments that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance.
Physical Demands : Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds independently; majority of lifting from knee to shoulder heights;
other lifting required from various levels.
- Must be able to carry and transport up to 50 pounds up to 20 feet.
