Description :

This position involves working in a progressive care unit.

The unit consists of 23 step-down beds and 16 medical-surgical beds.

Staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, and 4 PCTs during the day shift.

Night shift staffing consists of 1 charge nurse, 10 RNs, and 4 PCTs.

Patient ratios are 1 : 3-4 for step-down and 1 : 4-6 for medical-surgical care.

The unit is equipped with lifts, chest tubes, cardiac drips, and stable vented patients.

Common procedures include trach care, chest tube management, and wound dressing changes.

Candidates should possess flexibility and a high level of clinical competence.

Preferred qualifications include previous experience with electronic medical records systems.

Weekends will require 6 shifts in a 6-week period.

This position may involve floating to other medical-surgical and progressive care units as needed.
