Job Summary
The Production Manager – Retail Kitting will manage the execution of retail kitting and fulfillment programs across our commercial retail sector. This role bridges creative development and operational execution, ensuring all programs are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll collaborate closely with cross‑functional partners – including packaging development, account management, logistics, and warehouse teams – to coordinate timelines, vendor communication, and overall production flow.
You will be a key partner in maintaining strategic vendor and brand relationships and identifying opportunities for improvement across process, cost, and service. This role requires a sharp eye for detail, strong project management capabilities, and the ability to problem‑solve in fast‑paced, high‑volume environments.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Production Management
- Manage and execute the production flow for kitting programs — from PO creation through fulfillment
- Oversee order processing, invoicing, and production tracking across multiple concurrent projects
- Maintain updated BOMs (Bill of Materials), kitting instructions, and project documentation for internal and warehouse partners via Monday
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely completion of all production milestones
- Review and approve vendor quotes, track COGS, and ensure program profitability in collaboration with the development team
- Monitor quality control and proactively identify potential risks that could affect timelines or client satisfaction
- Analyze product margins to identify areas for improvement and cost‑saving opportunities
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth coordination of packaging programs
- Facilitate communication between various departments to ensure alignment on project milestones
Kitting & Fulfillment Coordination
Partner with warehouse and 3PL teams to manage packing plans, track shipments, resolve variances, and ensure all products arrive accurately and on timeSupport QC processes — including sample checks, tray fitments, and inventory audits —to ensure accuracy and quality in executionMaintain clear and consistent communication with multiple vendors / brands to ensure all deliverables are metWork closely with WH and internal team to ensure all components are available as soon as kit is ready for production floorLogistics and Supply Chain Coordination
Work with Twelve’s freight team to coordinate transportation and delivery of finished goods, components, and shipping materials; Ensure proper documentation and tracking of domestic transportationProactively gather materials and documents needed to ensure smooth transit globallyClient & Brand Communication
Present as a key, reliable partner to the Client and brands within the kitted retail setsCommunicate clear, up‑to‑date deliverables while managing quick‑turn timelinesMitigate risk by analyzing all angles of a project – Client-side, Vendor-side, Twelve‑sideBe willing to identify out of the box solutions for an overall well‑rounded client experienceServe as the point of contact for brands, coordinating information flow and ensuring alignment on project timelines and requirementsManage a high volume of brand email communication daily for over 500+ items, to track progress, resolve issues, adhere to timelines & keep all stakeholders informedQualifications
3–5 years of experience in Production, Project Management, Operations, or a related field (ideally in retail, packaging, or fulfillment).Competency in Microsoft platforms (Excel, Powerpoint, Word), Google platforms, project management tools and the ability to quickly master and implement new applications and systemsAn agile, resourceful problem solver that can adapt within a constantly evolving businessStrong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to make data‑driven decisionsDetail‑oriented, highly organized, and able to multi‑task – must be able to keep up with multiple clients, emails, timelines, launches, purchase orders simultaneously and with accuracy and timelinessExcellent interpersonal and communication skills and prioritizes relationship building with both internal team and clientsNetSuite, EDI / SPS Commerce, Monday.com experience strongly preferredStrong understanding of production workflows, kitting operations, or supply chain coordinationWhat you can expect
