Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Job Details

Location : Eureka, California 95501 (Northern California healthcare jobs)

Setting : Outpatient Oncology Clinic (connected to main hospital and chemotherapy center)

Assignment Type : Locum Tenens / Per Diem Nurse Practitioner

Schedule : Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm (Friday : 8am–12pm)

Guaranteed Hours : 8 hours / day (Mon–Thu), 4 hours (Fri)

Patient Encounters : 10–12 per shift

Start Date : December 1, 2025

End Date : Ongoing assignment

Estimated Weekly Hours : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary : $3,920–$4,200

Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Qualifications

Active California Nurse Practitioner license and eligibility for hospital privileges

Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience in Oncology or Acute Care (hospital or outpatient setting)

Board Certified or Board Eligible Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

BLS certification required

Experience with bone marrow biopsies preferred

Ability to explain any clinical gaps greater than 3 months

Willingness to provide case logs if applicable

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Key Responsibilities – Oncology Nurse Practitioner

Deliver comprehensive acute care and oncology services in an outpatient clinic

Conduct patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and manage ongoing oncology treatment

Perform or assist with bone marrow biopsies (preferred skill)

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team

Document patient encounters and maintain accurate electronic medical records

Ensure timely completion of all clinical duties within scheduled hours

Participate in the credentialing process and maintain hospital privileges
