Regional Market Director – Marine Segment
As the Regional Market Director, you will lead the charge in understanding, analyzing, and strategically navigating the dynamic landscape of the Marine segment within the region. By focusing on key areas such as market analysis, strategic planning, cross‑functional collaboration, stakeholder engagement, competitor analysis, and customer satisfaction initiatives, you will drive profitable growth and maintain a competitive edge in the Marine division.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop an in‑depth understanding of all DCLI functions, terminal operations, and vendors, becoming the go‑to expert for all aspects of your assigned region.
- Partner with regional operational and commercial teams daily to ensure alignment with market strategies and that initiatives are executed as intended, while engaging corporate stakeholders (IT, Shared Services, Corporate M&R, etc.).
- Conduct weekly meetings with maintenance & repair, logistics and commercial teams to align on tasks required to achieve market objectives.
- Gain a detailed understanding of all financial drivers within the assigned market / region, interpret financial results, communicate these results to all levels of the organization, and collaborate on initiatives to improve efficiencies, identify growth opportunities and maximize profitability.
- Collaborate closely with the Finance team to develop and implement a robust, data‑driven strategy for achieving profitable growth in the Marine segment.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive weekly / bi‑weekly updates to key stakeholders, detailing ongoing market conditions, including analysis of market trends, competitive landscape, and economic indicators.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of market and regional trends, focusing on container movements, chassis demand shifts, BCO activity, and other pertinent factors.
- Compile existing market intelligence and conduct ongoing research, leveraging insights to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate threats to DCLI’s performance in the region.
- Synthesize internal metrics and external research to create and implement solutions designed to improve DCLI’s overall market position and financial performance.
- Analyze key performance indicators to make informed adjustments to the strategy and ensure continuous improvement.
- Participate in industry associations in the assigned region, staying abreast of all issues impacting our industry while building DCLI brand equity with critical stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Operations, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.Minimum of 5 years of experience within the Marine or intermodal industry is a plus.Proven track record of successfully implementing data‑driven strategies.Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must, with the ability to convey complex ideas and strategies clearly and concisely.Experience guiding teams, making decisions, and communicating at a senior management level.Understanding of business operations, market dynamics, and how macro‑ and micro‑economic changes drive financial performance and business growth.Must be able to pass a pre‑employment drug screening.Direct Reports
