Job Purpose

As a Battery Pack Test Engineer, you will be part of Canoo's Battery Pack Team within the Propulsion group, responsible for electrical and mechanical testing of Battery Cells, Modules, and Packs, and Energy Storage Systems. You will collaborate across engineering disciplines to deliver high-quality Battery Pack and Energy Storage Solutions for vehicle production.

Responsibilities

• Test battery cells (Electrical and Mechanical including Thermal performance)
• Test battery Modules and Battery Pack design and components
• Support battery testing activities such as Performance, Reliability, Safety, and Regulatory Tests
• Develop detailed test plans based on specifications and industry standards
• Perform developmental tests to explore performance boundaries
• Create automated test scripts to validate features and functions
• Record, analyze, and document test data; support root cause analysis
• Develop tools to monitor battery systems during testing
• Design test harnesses, stand concepts, and fabrication drawings
• Select and specify components and setups for battery tests
• Manage vehicle validation from concept to production
• Specify data collection requirements and ensure proper test setups
• Support cross-functional team members as needed

Up to 25% domestic and international travel depending on project phase.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit for prolonged periods, occasionally bend or lift up to 25 pounds, and use a computer for extended periods.
