POSITION SUMMARY :
This position supports the work of a leading nonprofit, charitable organization. As the Senior Accountant you will support the Director of Finance in all accounting and financial reporting functions. It is anticipated that this position will require approximately 30 hrs. per week.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for a diverse range of financial and administrative duties, including :
- Conduct thorough reconciliations and analyses of various accounts.
- Support all aspects of annual audit functions.
- Process bank information and coordinate effectively with banking institutions.
- Create, input, and maintain accurate journal entries.
- Prepare essential financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow analyses.
- Support the timely and accurate monthly accounting close process.
- Assist with month-end and other critical financial report processing.
- Process all gifts and donations accurately and efficiently.
- Support the Director of Development with donor entry, acknowledgement processes, and other related tasks to ensure strong donor relationships.
- Take the lead on contract management, ensuring all contracts are properly documented, tracked, and renewed.
- Take the lead on all accounting software trainings and systems, ensuring staff proficiency and compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall operational efficiency of the organization.

Excellent communication and organizational abilities.Ability to think strategically, synthesize business / financial data & develop innovative solutions.Excellent planning, organizing, and analytical skills.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work product.Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.3-5 years' experience in general accounting functions (A / R, A / P, G / L, account reconciliations and analysis).
