Job Description

As a Senior Design Engineer, Refrigeration at CRB, you'll have the opportunity to work within an integrated Architecture, Engineering, and Construction firm capable of executing ONEsolution project delivery. You'll collaborate with subject matter experts across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, process, and automation engineering; architecture and lab planning; procurement, estimation, virtual design & construction, health & safety, and construction management. This diverse team allows us to provide innovative solutions to the Life Sciences and Food & Beverage industries, emphasizing speed, quality, and creativity.

How will I contribute?

You will oversee discipline deliverables and budgets on projects of varying complexity. You will coordinate with architects, engineers, clients, construction managers, subcontractors, and vendors. Managing multiple tasks, you will establish priorities, guide project work, act as the mechanical point-of-contact, and support complex project code analysis, bid / permit / construction deliverables, and system design coordination from conception through completion. Mentoring early-career engineers in refrigeration, HVAC, and utilities will also be part of your role.

Key Responsibilities :

• Design and engineer HVAC and mechanical utilities, including ammonia and glycol refrigeration, and air conditioning systems.
• Oversee mechanical scope and design budgets.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders.
• Conduct site selection, master planning, commissioning, load calculations, utility assessments, energy modeling, and code evaluations.
• Develop design reports, plans, P&IDs, schedules, and specifications.
• Lead design activities from conceptual to detailed design and construction.
• Act as Engineer of Record, managing workflows and supporting staff.
• Serve as mechanical client contact and support field surveys and construction activities.
• Ensure document quality and project standards.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and designers.
