Intertek is searching for an Engineering Aide to join our Transportation Technologyteam in our San Antonio, Texas office.

The Engineering Aide is responsible for smooth operation of assigned projects through planning and control. Assures all lubricant tests are performed according to test specifications.
Monitors tests to result in client satisfaction and business cell profitability.
What you’ll do :
- Monitors tests in progress to assure conformance with established procedures.
- Writes reports and summaries to include weekly production report and end-of-test (EOT) log.
- Audits all data forms for accuracy and completeness prior to processing by Client Services personnel.
- Compiles test data, monitors data for test variance, and takes appropriate corrective action.
- Troubleshoots mechanical and instrumentation problems, shares on-call responsibilities with supervisor; provides technical assistance during off-duty hours via telephone;
responds to on-site assistance requests from supervisory or engineering staff.
- Establishes quality control procedures to assure test validity; verifies instrumentation and calibration.
- Coordinates reference testing with ASTM / TMC.
- To carry out the above responsibilities, and all others which may be assigned, in a manner demonstrating support for and adherence to the Company’s Safety Policy and Procedures, Quality Policy and Procedures, Ethics Policy, Environmental Management System, Vision and Strategy, and to exercise good judgment, common sense, and diplomacy in so doing.
What it takes to be successful in this role :
- HS Diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of experience in verifiable automotive repair / testing required.
- Thorough knowledge of assigned tests procedures, automotive systems and testing preferred.
- Hands on mechanical experience preferred.
- Familiarity with ASTM test methods for engine testing fuels and lubricants.
- Excellent oral and written communications.
- Skills in technical writing, computer systems and software (Excel) essential.
- Must be available to respond to off duty calls for technical assistance. Exposure to heat, noise, engine fuels and rotating mechanical equipment on a routine basis
