Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Field Engineer to join our team. The Network Field Engineer will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network infrastructure at client sites to ensure reliable network performance and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, and test network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points, at client locations.
Diagnose and resolve network issues, perform routine maintenance, and upgrade hardware / software to ensure optimal performance.
Provide on-site technical support to clients, addressing connectivity issues, performance bottlenecks, and other network-related problems.
Create and maintain detailed records of network configurations, installations, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
Work closely with network architects, engineers, and project managers to implement network designs and ensure alignment with client requirements.
Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs, provide updates on service status, and ensure a positive customer experience.
Adhere to industry standards, safety protocols, and company policies during all field operations.
Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2+ years of experience in network installation, maintenance, or troubleshooting.
with network hardware (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Aruba) and protocols (e.g., TCP / IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs).
Preferred certifications include CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent. CWNA or JNCIA is a plus.
Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, and wireless systems; familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds); knowledge of LAN / WAN technologies and network security practices.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work independently and manage time effectively in the field.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites (local or regional); ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various environmental conditions (e.g., outdoor sites, data centers); availability for on-call or after-hours support as needed.
