Assistant Fund Controller

Jennifer Fukumae with Robert Half's Finance and Accounting is partnering with a top-tier private equity firm focused on fueling innovation within the software, data, and analytics sectors. The firm is seeking an Assistant Fund Controller to join its growing finance team. This is a high-impact role working closely with the CFO, fund administrators, and portfolio company leadership. The position is ideal for a CPA with a Big 4 foundation and hands-on experience in private equity or fund accounting who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and review work performed by third-party fund administrators.
• Maintain general ledgers for internal funds; perform monthly closings and reconciliations (bank, intercompany, investment, and partners' capital accounts).
• Prepare financial statements and quarterly investor reporting packages in accordance with LP agreements.
• Assist with quarterly valuations, annual audits, and tax reviews (K-1s, Forms 1042 / 8804, federal and state filings).
• Support SEC compliance and fund-level reporting requirements.
• Oversee partner capital calls, distributions, and related correspondence.
• Collaborate with FP&A and investment teams on portfolio dashboards and performance analysis.
• Participate in ad hoc and strategic finance projects for both the firm and portfolio companies.
